Our primary server (ra.traversebaycomputers.com) is located in Southfield, MI and has a 100mbit connection to a network with Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps) to Level(3), OC-12 (622Mbps) to Savvis and OC-3 (155Mbps) to MCI, as well as several private peering connections with local Michigan ISPs. This datacenter location provides websites hosted on our servers to be quickly accessed by visitors all over Michigan, and indeed, the world. This server provides Web, SQL, Mail and DNS services. Don't be fooled by hosting companies with their servers located in Traverse City claiming better connectivity -- the fact is, most Michigan ISPs route all their external traffic downstate, making our servers closer net-wise to most users in TC than servers located in TC.
Our secondary server (us.traversebaycomputers.com) is located in Atlanta GA and has a 100mbit connection to a network with 6 gigabit links to 5 different premium Tier-1 providers with the 7th link peering with over 20 networks at the Atlanta Internet Exchange. The network utilizes RouteScience architecture to constantly monitor and adjust BGP routes for the best routing based on latency and performance. This is much better than traditional BGP as it is able to detect and re-route around peering problems located on the Internet. This server provides secondary DNS and Mail services.
Our tertiary server (noc.traversebaycomputers.com) is located in Southfield, MI (in the same rack as ra.) This server runs ircd and serves as a backup in case one of the other servers fails.
